The Divine Invasion

In this 1981 sequel to VALIS, Philip K. Dick imagines a futuristic second coming of God—exiled to a distant planet and reborn as a child named Emmanuel. As Earth remains under the dominion of Belial, a fallen angel, divine forces conspire to reclaim creation. Blending theology, metaphysics, and surreal sci-fi, Dick explores memory, identity, and cosmic struggle in a world ruled by authoritarianism and illusion.
