Paradigms Lost

Paradigms Lost is a unique and penetrating study of mankind

from our biochemical origins to our present role as observers in the universe. Equally appealing to the layman and to the scientist, it presents an easily-accessible overview of the great scientific questions of today, from how we acquire language and the fundamental nature of our thinking processes to the possible existence of life elsewhere in the universe. Each chapter is constructed in the form of a trial, with conventional

scientific wisdom presented by the Prosecution, an alternative views put forward by the Defence. The author subsequently steps in to act as juror, offering explanations of

how and why he voted. Enlightening, entertaining and spiced with humour

Paradigms Lost offers ultimate proof on only one issue that the reader can participate in science's exciting quest for ever more refined knowledge of where man stands within the cosmic order.
