Atomic Science, Bombs, and Power (PocketBook)

In this newly revised edition, David Dietz authoritatively and clearly explains all developments in the atomic field and their significance for the future of mankind. Beginning with a survey of atomic theory from the time of the ancient Greeks, he leads up to the exciting story of the discovery of nuclear fission. Finally – and most important – he gives a comprehensive progress report on the uses, both military and non-military, to which atomic energy has been put since the creation of the first atomic bomb.
