The Naked Ape 1st Edition

Desmond Morris’s The Naked Ape: A Zoologist’s Study of the Human Animal is a provocative exploration of human behavior through the lens of zoology. First published in 1967, the book compares Homo sapiens to other primates, arguing that many aspects of human life—sexuality, aggression, parenting, and social structures—are rooted in our evolutionary past as hunter-gatherers. By stripping away cultural pretenses, Morris presents humans as instinct-driven animals shaped by biology more than civilization.
