Two Plays of Bhasa

Two Plays of Bh?sa translated by A. S. P. Ayyar presents English renderings of works by Bh?sa, one of the earliest known Sanskrit dramatists. Bh?sa’s plays, rediscovered in the 20th century, are notable for their vivid characterization, dramatic intensity, and departures from traditional Sanskrit dramaturgy. Ayyar’s translations make these classical works accessible to modern readers, highlighting Bh?sa’s contribution to Indian theatre and literary heritage.
