Heidi Grows Up

Heidi Grows Up (1936) is the official sequel to Johanna Spyri’s beloved novel Heidi, written by her translator Charles Tritten. Originally published in French as Heidi jeune fille, the story follows Heidi as she leaves the Alps to attend boarding school in Lausanne. There, she matures, makes new friends, and eventually returns to her village to become a teacher. Tritten’s continuation preserves the spirit of the original while expanding Heidi’s world with warmth and optimism.
