And What Remains in the End

A career civil servent, Robin Gupta has had the unique distinction of serving in four Indian provinces - Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab - apart from a long period of deputation with the Central Government. He has travelled far and wide across the country and the world and, with an active role in India's governance and politics, he has observed it grow and change over the last four decades. In turn philosophical, sensitive and laced with gentle humour, this is a book that provides the reader with window into that evolution of India, and the part played by civil servants in its advancement.
