The Book of Indian Birds

The book of Indian Birds has been a close companion of the newest bird watching enthusiast as of the seasoned ornithologist in India. This eleventh edition retains all the features of its immediate predecessor: it illustrates in colour and tersely describes the habits and habitats of 296 of the commoner birds of the plains and foothills, and of the wetlands and sea coast. The text has been thoroughly revised and brought up to date, and the sequence of Order and Families rearranged in accordance with our latest authoritative checklist. This change facilitates reference to current ornithological literature, and particularly to the comprehensive 10-volume Hand book of The Birds of India and Pakistan when fuller accounts of the birds are desired. The book remains an indispensable Field Guide for everyone who wishes to enjoy the rich and varied bird life of our country out of doors.
