The author was one of the original dog handlers for the Metropolitan Police when they started a dog section… Mr. Scott gets down to the basic essentials of training in obedience and security work. Written in a simple language and illustrated with excellent photographs the book makes obedience training sound easy …nothing is omitted and any dog taken through the course indicated by Mr. Scott will emerge as reliable in a wide range of circumstance … the whole book is most readable.

His basic training methods are founded on the understanding of a dog’s mental capacity, a logical sequence of exercises and clear commands.
