Grant's Civil War (PocketBook)

This is Grant’s own story of the Civil War. Strong, direct, compelling, it bears the unmistakable impress of the modest hero who forced his own opportunities on the battlefield and imbued the Union with faith in the power of its arms.

Drawn from Grant’s brilliant Personal Memoirs, this volume takes the reader from the outbreak of hostilities to the sublime final moment in the courthouse at Appomattox.

It is history made vivid as much by Grant’s terseness and restraint as by the drama of the events themselves. Earl Schenck Miers casts new light on this vital, personal document.
