Three men were held responsible for the carnage of World War Two- Adlof Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and General Hideki Tojo of Japan. Tojo was also the man judged accountable for the Japanese’s atrocities – the horrors of the Bata: death-march, the mass murders, and the destruction by starvation and force labour of tens of thousands of men.

General Tojo was condemned joy the International Military Tribunal and dieigbibly on the Gallows. But was guilty? Or was he a willing scapegoat conditioned by his upbringing and training to serve unquestioningly the divine Emperor Hirohito?
