T.S. Eliot’s poetic career is generally divided into two sharply distinct phases – the secular and the religious. This book makes an attempt to establish the continuity of Eliot’s religious interest at all the stages of his growth as a poet, culminating in the affirmation of a world-view based mainly on a religious perspective. Religious ideals and spiritual values are found to be present even in the early poems of Eliot, showing evidence of a growing religious sensibility.
