Karen Isaksen Leonard’s Locating Home is a comparative study of Hyderabadi emigrants who settled in Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Canada, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates at the end of the twentieth century. Based on ten years of fieldwork and extensive interviews, the book traces Hyderabadi culture and institutions abroad, examining how versions of Hyderabadi history are transmitted and how personal networks and collective bodies are formed.
