This is an interdisciplinary work. It tries to explore the relationship between criticism and psychology in the works of i.A. Richards – the most fascinating, versatile and wide-ranging mind of the 20^th century. The work studies the influence of William James, C.F. Sherrington, G.F.  Stout and James Ward on the critical theory of Richards which was also influenced by the contemporary schools of Psychology, Behaviorism, Gestalt and Psycho-analysis.
