Padmanabh Telang, born on March 30, 1911,, served as a priest in a temple at Sagar M. P. after the death of his father, but soon resigned that job as a result of police search in the temple during British rule. Some proscribed literature was found as he was interested in reading revolutionary literature from his student life. He took part in the freedom fight on the call of “Quit India” movement under Mahatma Gandhi leadership and courted imprisonment for six months previously as a security prisoner and after wards was awarded one year R. I.
