The American journalist Albert Rhys Williams arrived in Russia in the middle of 1917 and witnessed the collapse of the
old regime and the victory of the Great October Socialist Revolution. In those stormy months, he saw the demonstrations
of revolutionary masses, the storming of the Winter Palace in Petrograd and the triumphant march of Soviet power
across the length of the country. His book Through the Russian Revolution tells about those events.
Williams met Lenin on a number of occasions, he spoke with him at a meeting and he has a chance to observe the great
revolution leader in everyday work and life. He wrote about Lenin with great warmth in his book Lenin: the Man and
His work.
After another visit to the Soviet Union in 1931, he published the article “The Greatest Reception Room in the World, â€
which is devoted to Lenin
This volume contains all these works by Albert Rhys Williams, revised by the author and supplied with the introduction
he wrote for the Russian edition during his stay in the Soviet Union in 1959.
